free bird walks with golden gate bird alliance

Our local Audubon chapter is very active in the community: we (yes, I am a member!) have habitat restoration volunteer days all over the city, and host free bird walks, posted every month on the website! All you have to do is sign up in advance. It is always a welcoming bunch of happy nerds, and no gear or skill necessary.

Ideally you have binoculars, but if not, someone will be willing to let you look through theirs!

I highly recommend the walk through the SF Botanical Garden on the first Sunday of the month. You’ll see so many species and the garden is beautiful!
